About the book
What is SOBER?
SOBER is a book of challenging illustrated Bible verses, chosen to shock us awake, sober us up and help us become more of who we were made to be. It brings us into the light, that cleansing light which is sometimes uncomfortable, but which leads us on the path of repentance and freedom.
Prepare for a journey like no other through more than 40 illustrated verses and devotions. This book will move you through laughter, self-realisation, conviction and honest confession. It's more than a daily read. It's an adventure in which we let God's Word transform our hearts, equipping us to stay alert and vigilant for the spiritual quests ahead.
Colour the details
Spend longer taking in the truth of the verse
The longer you stay with the image, the longer you stay with the verse, giving the Word more opportunity to pierce your heart.
A normal colouring book invites you to colour in the whole image. In SOBER you can do that if you want to, but every illustration is also drawn so you can colour just the small details: the ring in a pig-faced woman's nose, the colour of the eyeball in a raven's mouth, the bag of loot the moth has stolen from you. There's something strangely satisfying about colouring those tiny details. The illustration still works as a finished piece, but now you've added something of your own, and in doing so spent longer with the picture and the truth behind it.

Lovingly hand drawn
No AI has been used to create any of the drawings in this book, and I haven't used AI to come up with ideas or concepts for how to illustrate a verse, either. I'm committed to growing as an artist and holding on to the classic ways of making art, especially when that art represents God's Word.
